Operation Straight Shooter (working title) will be a multiplayer first person shooter which aims to include the tactical and strategic complexity of military simulators, while using the format of short timed rounds, so players can log on for 10 minutes or 10 hours.
To keep the game fresh and to prevent the same old situation each round, maps will be procedurally generated with a different layout of streets and buildings each round. Teams and objectives will be spawned in a random location on the map.
Public online play with strangers should be enjoyable, and cohesive team play will win games. Once playtesting has begun an experimental scoring system will be tested that encourages self sacrifice for the team. Players will not know their kill/death ratio, but rather have a permanent record of how many of their team members reach objectives.
The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4, and will make good use of wind and foliage to create dynamic environments where spotting an enemy is less trivial.
